{"id":928,"date":"2020-12-04T20:39:11","date_gmt":"2020-12-04T20:39:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/indepthbibleteaching.com\/blog\/?p=928"},"modified":"2023-03-15T20:16:26","modified_gmt":"2023-03-15T20:16:26","slug":"judges-class-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indepthbibleteaching.com\/blog\/?p=928","title":{"rendered":"judges class 3"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Judg 3:1 &#8220;Now these are the nations which the Lord left, that He might test Israel by the<\/em>m&#8221; NKJV<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The test can produce various results:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 1. failure<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 -no change in character<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 -a desire to please self not God (e.g. leeks, onions, garlic) a desire to go back to Egypt<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 -indifference (unconcerned) (lets go make a golden calf)<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 2. Opportunity to defeat the enemy<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>1 Peter 5:8 \u201cBe sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking <\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>whom he may devour\u201d<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 James 4:7 \u201cTherefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you\u201d<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 3. Opportunity to grow; to use our faith. (James 1:3)<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4. Successful negotiation of the test<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 -we see our heart in the test<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; bringing about a change in the circumstance<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-it can produce godly character<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-we see the faithfulness of the Lord<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 5. We find out if we love the Lord<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 6.
