Exodus

Exodus class 11

Exodus 13:17,14 The wilderness way

Even though the Lord delivered the people from Egypt and led them to the Red Sea, they still had a heart that desired to be back in Egypt.

The hearts of the people were not right toward the Lord in Egypt, and those same hearts were brought into the wilderness.

Ex 14:11-12
Then they said to Moses, “Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt?
12 Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, ‘Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.”

The focus of the people was not on how they suffered and were oppressed in Egypt, it was on the provision of food and water in Egypt. Their hearts were against the way the Lord was leading them.
