Teaching from the Scriptures

Romans

Romams class 8

Rom 8:31 “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” NKJV

In this context, we read that “all things work together for good to those who love God…” and “…He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son…”

God will work all things for our good! It can be difficult to believe that some circumstances can work for our good. Some circumstances, that appear to be horrible, can be the vehicle to conform the Christian into the image of Jesus Christ.

It is good to have the Lord on our side! If there is true dedication to the Lord, He can work in a way that no one can oppose, “who can be against us.”

The Lord is the potter and He will form the clay.

In Jeremiah 18:3-12, it shows the process of work done upon the clay.

  1. God has patience
  2. Man is the clay
  3. Life is the wheel
  4. Disobedience is the marring
  5. Trials are the furnace

Isa 64:8 “But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand.”
