Canaan is a place of conquest through conflict!

1) The Canaanites were destroyed because of their iniquity.

The Canaanites were brutal, aggressive, people who practiced bestiality, incest, child sacrifice, etc.

Gen 15:16 “But in the fourth generation they shall return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.” NKJV

2) God gave the children of Israel further reasons why they needed to destroy the Canaanites:

Deut 20:18 “So that they may not teach you all the abominable practices they have carried on for their gods, and so cause you to sin against the Lord your God” AMP
