Judges class 2
The pattern in Ch. 2 is seen in the following verses –
v11-12 apostasy; v14 judgment; v15 oppression; then they cried out to the Lord or repentance; v16 deliverance
The Book of Judges centers upon six major judges:
1) The six major judges show the declension of Israel
2) The focus is not the story
In Hebrews Ch. 11, the writer mentions Gideon, Jephthah, and Samson – related to faith not character.
(Jesus mentions Jonah, He does not endorse his character)
With the last three judges the Bible focuses upon character flaws, why? So, that it is clear to us that God’s people are in a time of decline.
